Prices and features checked Oct 4, 2026 on the US App Store and each app's own help pages. Prices vary by platform, country and promotion.

Lumosity, Peak and Elevate are brain-training apps: a free version with a daily limit, and a subscription that unlocks the rest. 1Mazing is a different kind of thing — 55 games, all free, no subscription, no ads, and no claims about your brain. Who each one is for

Lumosity

You want a structured training program built around its own research, with progress tracking, and you're happy to pay for the full version. No ads.

Peak

You want a personalised daily workout, including on Apple Watch, and you're fine with ads or paying for Pro.

Elevate

You want to work on vocabulary and everyday math skills, and a yearly subscription suits you.

1Mazing

You want lots of different games for free — a 5-minute Daily, live matches, duels with friends and party games for game night — with no subscription, no ads and no account.

What 1Mazing does and doesn't claim

1Mazing is games: word puzzles, logic, memory, quick reflex rounds and party games. We don't claim they raise your IQ, sharpen your memory or protect against decline. They're a fun way to keep your mind busy for five minutes a day, and that is the whole promise.

Claims like that are a known problem in this category. In 2016 Lumosity's maker paid $2 million to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that its ads made unfounded claims about work, school and age-related decline (FTC press release).

Try 1Mazing free. Nothing to buy in the app today, nothing locks after a few days.
